K9s Scout, Remy and Pocket Inducted into KVMA Animal Hall of Fame

Congratulations to K9s Scout, Remy, and Pocket.

The Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association inducted K9 Scout, K9 Remy and K9 Pocket into the KVMA Animal Hall of Fame at its 2018 Mid-America Veterinary Conference. The award is given "to honor and recognize exceptional animals who have done something brave or exceedingly noteworthy that would qualify him or her as a genuine, true-to-life hero." The girls were nominated for the award by Dr. Ann Nevils of Chenoweth Animal Hospital.

During the award ceremony, the president of the KVMA shared several KYK9 search stories that exemplified the girls brave work. K9 Scout, K9 Remy, and K9 Pocket each received a beautiful custom-made leather collar decorated with an engraved gold name plate. Dr. Nevils and KYK9 also received gold plaques commemorating the hero award. To top it off, at the end of the ceremony, the dogs were able track volunteer veterinarians who hid as missing persons in the large convention crowd.

KYK9 is especially grateful that the KVMA took the extraordinary step of recognizing K9 Scout, K9 Remy and K9 Pocket as a search team. With K9 Scout and K9 Remy nearing the end of their working years, this team recognition was especially poignant and meaningful. We are truly honored.
