We have exciting news! KYK9 is the recipient of a 2016 grant provided by the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. This grant will provide a search boat that will be used by K9s Scout, Remy and Pocket to find missing persons in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water.
The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization of talented men and woman appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky because of their service to the state. The Honorable Order's primary objective is to support needy Kentucky charities and worthy Kentucky organizations by raising money from member Colonels to help organizations who stand ready to help citizens share in Kentucky's boundless future.
KYK9 is thrilled and honored that the Kentucky Colonels support and recognize the value of KYK9's search services to families across the Commonwealth.
Examples of K9 water searches include locating individuals who have been washed away by a strong current, locating missing boaters and hunters, and locating homicide victims who have been disposed of in water.
Stay tuned. We hope to be getting the search boat in the next few weeks. We will send out a launch announcement with pictures and explain how search dogs work on a boat.
With gratitude to the Kentucky Colonels and our loyal supporters like you,
Jennifer Jordan Hall
