LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - You probably didn't notice, but K-9 Cadaver dogs taking part in an Advanced Cadaver Search Seminar have been all over Louisville.

Thursday, in the Louisville Gardens, K-9 teams from all over the United States searched for scents of human remains and blood.

At any given time 90,000 people are missing in the U.S. That's why they say it's crucial to train in as many situations as possible.

There are many scenarios around the city, indoor and outdoor, where bodies could be hidden, evidence hidden or attempted to be destroyed.

“Yesterday we had an example where we had blood that had been wiped up, and then a little blood on the wall in this large area,” KYK9 Search and Reunite Service Director Jennifer Jordan Hall said. “Then the dogs actually indicated on it which is so cool because it wasn't even there.”

“We'll move into more advanced crime scene areas of tainted weapons or other evidence to find that I've planted,” Instructor Matthew Zarrella said

The class is the only one of its kind in the country.
